2020 Leader’s Summit

Overview: The Arkansas Leaders’ Summit provides the opportunity to learn about the Arkansas League structure and processes, how to start a mountain bike team and run student mountain biking practices, how to work with their schools, issues related to liability, and the unique intricacies of working with high school and middle school cyclists. The primary goal for the Leaders’ Summit is to teach and license adults as competent NICA coaches while sharing a combined passion for the sport and the NICA vision. The. summit is an ideal opportunity for coaches and team organizers to collaborate with the league and other coaches, share thoughts and opinions; it is the perfect environment to get charged up for the 2020 season and have fun while doing it!

Specific Instructions: For more information on NICA coach licensing requirements, visit www.nationalmtb.org/coaches-license-program . We suggest completing the NICA required concussion training and NICA Risk Management 101 video and test (available from the Pit Zone starting March 1) before you arrive at Leader’s Summit. www.nationalmtb.org/coaches- license-program.
Where: The Summit will take place at The Thaden School located at 800 SE C Street, Bentonville, AR 72712. March 7-8 2020
What’s Included? The Leader Summit registration fee includes, lunch Saturday and lunch Sunday. (NOTE: Dinner each evening will be on our own). The Summit registration will also include all the skills and classroom training, a NICA skills booklet, and an opportunity to meet and ride with great individuals who are all interested in working with students. The registration does not cover the cost of your lodging during the event. Special Lodging Rates are being negotiated and will be posted.
What to bring? Please bring your bike, helmet and riding gear for weather for the weekend. Flat pedal recommended for skills.
