Alan Ley – Arkansas League Co-Founder

Alan is heading up the Arkansas League Development Team. He was the Director of Bike Bentonville, a community driven cycling organization that supports and educates our community about multisport activities and helps to create an environment that supports health and fitness. Before that he was the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Sports Development Manager. The position consisted of facilitating, educating and collaborating with National Federations to develop their Olympic coaches and athletes for talent identification and performance. Prior to that Alan was USA Triathlon’s Sport Development Director, Coaching Education Manager and National Training Center Director.

Alan has over 20 years’ experience in Hospital and Corporate Wellness and Fitness Centers. He qualified and completed in six Hawaii Ironman Triathlon World Championships and three XTERRA World Championships and has a vast amount of experience in the medical and fitness field and with Olympic triathletes. He has been a part of the last 3 Olympic Games and has worked, coached, and taught Olympic high performance teams, athletes and coaches about racing and training.
Alan was certified by ACE and American College of Sports Medicine HFI. He is currently a Level 2 International Triathlon Union (ITU) Coach and Level 4 Facilitator (Training the Trainers). Both of these are the highest certifications recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the highest Coaching and Facilitator certification ITU has. He completed the USOC Olympic Coaching College and the USA Triathlon Level III Elite Coaching certification. He also served in the US Army Special Forces as an Airborne Green Beret and graduated from Indiana State University and IUPUI with degrees in Exercise Science and Hospital Administration.



Kyla Templeton – Arkansas League Co-Founder

Kyla Templeton is the founder of Girls Bike Bentonville, a Bentonville women’s cycling group. Kyla fell in love with cycling after college and has a passion for getting women out on a bicycle, whether that’s a road bike, mountain bike, or riding on the paved trails in town. She is excited about using the women’s cycling groups to recruit and retain girls for the high school teams. Kyla is a USAT and USAC coach and has coached youth triathlons for the last three years. With a BS in Industrial Engineering and Management and a MS in Leadership and Ethics, Kyla worked in project management and training and development at Walmart and Sam’s Club for 7 years. She was also the Safe Routes to School Coordinator for Bentonville for 2 years
